Custom Brochure Printing for Effortless Marketing
Brochure Printing - A Perfect Product Every Time!
When you want to get the word about your product or service out to the world, you need to know about brochure printing. Brochures can be very effective in extending your sales and marketing reach when they are designed and printed correctly. To make that lasing impression – the one that almost lures customers in the door,
you need to make sure your brochure printing is professional and
precise; and the type of printing is suited to both your design and
anticipated results.
Up to 60% of the human brain is devoted to vision,
more proportionally than any other sense. This means that not only
must your brochure have an engaging design, and be easy to understand;
the complete visual package must be presented as a professional
production. Otherwise the viewer’s brain will start sending messages
that there is “something not quite right” about it. And this translates
into a feeling of uneasiness that can prevent you client from calling
you or taking the next step to a sale.
Before you even consider your design and format you should consider how you want it printed. Why is brochure printing important at this stage? Well, here’s an example to illustrate:
The Sad Tale
The
sad tale of Company X that didn’t consider the printing first. Company
X sells metal bolts. Their marketing team took their brochure ideas
to their graphic designer and gave her all the requirements and a
description of the target market they wanted to reach. The designer
loved the project and jumped in and created a fabulous design, full
color with metallic colour accents like “pewter” and “cold steel.” The
effect was stunning; the impact was a direct hit! The designer and the
clients were delighted. Then they sent the design to their regular
commercial printer to get produced.
Now here’s where the problems started:
Company
X only wanted to print a short run of 250 of these brochures. But the
amazing metallic inks are only available with a process called offset
printing. And offset printing is typically only cost effective for full
colour brochures with a run of 1000 or more. To print only 250 of
these beautiful painstakingly designed brochures on an offset press in a
4 color process was going to cost a bundle. And this “bundle” was not
in the budget.
Our client had to literally go back to the drawing
board and pay their designer again, to come up with another design,
suitable for short run printing. Their collective disappointment was
almost heartbreaking.
Our best advice to our clients is
decide on your budget, decide how many pieces you want printed, and
then call us so we can advise you on which process will be best for you
BEFORE you go to your designer; or even better, let us design it for
you. At Tartan Graphics, our in-house designers work directly with the
production team so there are no surprises.
If our pressman sees
that the ink won’t work with a certain design he’ll come back to our
design studio to collaborate on a revision. No surprises for you – no “back to the drawing board!”
